Why did Laman and Lemuel murmur? Why did Nephi support his father? What determines whether you are a murmurer or a supporter of the Lord’s work and His prophets?
I've read these chapters more times than I can count but 1 Nephi 2:16 really popped out at me, especially, "...and did soften my heart..." Nephi was an awesome prophet, incredible man, wonderful son etc but at least for a brief time his heart wasn't soft (I can bring myself to say it was hard). For me the key was that he wanted to know God, he asked and he listened. Great pattern and example...we all have moments when our hearts aren't as soft as they should be...
